1. About these terms
These Terms of Use govern your use of Afrimedlink (the "Platform"), available at https://www.afrimedlink.com and through our applications. The Platform is operated by Afrimed Link Ltd, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria ("Afrimedlink", "we", "us").
By creating an account, booking a service or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Notice and the other policies linked below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Before you pay for any service we show you its price, what it includes and any terms that limit our liability, as required by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 (FCCPA).
2. Not for emergencies
In an emergency, do not use the Platform
Afrimedlink is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is seriously ill or injured, call the national emergency number 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
Under the National Health Act 2014, no person may be refused emergency treatment. Online consultations cannot replace physical emergency care, and our clinicians will direct you to in-person care whenever your condition requires it.
3. Our services
The Platform connects patients with licensed healthcare professionals and partner facilities. Depending on availability, it lets you:
- consult doctors, nurses, carers and pharmacists online, and book in-person appointments at partner facilities;
- submit questions and files to a doctor through Talk to a Doctor;
- receive electronic prescriptions, dispensed by licensed partner pharmacies;
- order laboratory tests and medical imaging through partner laboratories and hospitals, and receive results;
- view and manage your own health records; and
- find and compare hospitals listed on the Platform.
Hospitals, laboratories and pharmacies listed on the Platform are independent organisations responsible for the care they deliver on their premises. Listing a facility is not an endorsement of every service it offers.
4. Clinical care and its limits
- Clinicians on the Platform must hold a current licence from the relevant Nigerian regulator — for example the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria or the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria. We check licence details before granting a clinical role.
- Each clinician remains professionally responsible for their own clinical decisions and must follow their professional code, including the confidentiality and telemedicine rules in the Code of Medical Ethics in Nigeria.
- Remote care has limits: a clinician cannot examine you physically. They may decline to treat you online, ask you to attend in person, or refer you elsewhere when that is safer.
- You have the right to information about your condition, the available options, their benefits, risks and costs, and to refuse treatment (National Health Act 2014, s.23).
- Give accurate, complete information. Care decisions depend on it.
5. Prescriptions and medicines
- Prescription-only medicines are issued only after a consultation with a clinician licensed in Nigeria, and only where clinically appropriate.
- Medicines are dispensed by pharmacies licensed by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, in line with the Council's Electronic Pharmacy Regulations 2026.
- Do not share, alter or reuse a prescription. Requests for controlled or high-risk medicines may be declined or require an in-person review.
6. Your account
- You must be 18 or over to open an account. Under our policy, the account of anyone under 18 (a child under the Child's Rights Act 2003) must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian. Where we rely on consent to process a child's data, we obtain it from the parent or guardian (Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, s.31).
- Keep your login details secret and tell us at once if you suspect someone else has used your account.
- You may close your account at any time from your profile settings or by contacting us. Some records must be kept after closure — see our Privacy Notice.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. We will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
7. Fees, payments and refunds
- Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira (₦) before you confirm, including any platform or service fee.
- Payments are processed by our licensed payment partner (Flutterwave). We never see or store your full card details.
- If a payment fails but you are charged, or a service you paid for is not delivered, contact us and we will investigate and refund where due, in line with Central Bank of Nigeria guidelines on electronic payments and the FCCPA.
- You can cancel a booked appointment before it starts; any cancellation fee is shown at booking.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- impersonate anyone, or use someone else's identity, licence or account;
- harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against patients, clinicians or our staff;
- upload unlawful, misleading or harmful content, or another person's health information without their permission;
- attempt to access data you are not entitled to, probe or disrupt our systems, or introduce malicious code (offences under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015, as amended); or
- record consultations without the other person's agreement.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law — including liability for gross negligence or fraud (FCCPA, s.129) — or your rights under the National Health Act 2014.
Subject to that, we are not liable for: the care delivered by independent facilities on their own premises; losses caused by information you withheld or gave inaccurately; or interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as network or power failures. We take reasonable care to keep the Platform available and secure, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
10. Complaints and disputes
- Raise any complaint with us first at info@afrimedlink.com or through Contact & Support. We will acknowledge it and respond as quickly as we can.
- Concerns about a clinician's professional conduct can also be reported to their regulator (for example, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria).
- Consumer complaints may be referred to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC). Data-protection complaints may be made to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Courts in Lagos State have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law or our services. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page and tell registered users about significant changes before they take effect.
